The world is what you make it to be.

When I look through a lens I see the world as it is, as I want it to be, as it shouldn't be, as it could be. Ones eyes may see whatever they wish things to be. One can ignore something and not the other.

My eyes see beauty in all the things they see. My goal is to bring out that beauty through my photography so others may see what my eyes see. The problematic thing is getting what I see to come through it. The lens are not my eyes, they're simply a tool to use. It took skill and hard work to get where I am now and 3 years later, I finally feel proud and accomplished of my work.

There is beauty everywhere, you just missed it. Can't you see it? Look a little closer. Yes that is a leaf. It's beautiful isn't it? Look, it's a flower. How wonderful does the pollen look on the colorful petals. Look, it's a bumblebee. Do you notice the fuzz on its small body as it buzzes by from flower to flower? Look down some more and see the ground. Stones and soil, grass and branches fallen. They all add such details to our world. Look even further. Some shattered glass. I wonder who was drinking last night, did they have a great time? Oh but look, the sun is playing with the broken pieces. What a wonderful dance of rays and colors!

A photograph says many words, sometimes even a story. It can be a short one or one that lasts a lifetime. It can mean more than one thing if you sit down and analyze it. Next time you see a photograph, look closely and listen to what it has to say. It's a lot like a fire. A fire tells many stories if you know how to listen. In the same way, a photograph can say many things as long as you look closely and listen.

My goal in life as a photographer is to bring out the beauty you missed. The beauty you forget about. The beauty you don't have time to notice from your busy life. The beauty you never thought was possible. Yes. There CAN be beauty in everything, even death. Don't let photos of dead things scare you. Look past the "gross" things. There's beauty there if you look closer. Look at the spiders and bugs and creepy crawlies you might be afraid of. Don't let your fear turn you away. Let the fear become you, let it flow through you. Fear can be beautiful too.

I want to show you my world as I see it. My inability to express myself verbally has brought me to photography. My lens can see how I see. What more could I ever ask for? I can show the world what I see and let them see the beauty I see. For even when the world is its darkest, scariest, grossest, saddest…..there will always be a beauty to keep you in awe.
